Workfast is seeking a Skilled Trades Assistant for our client based in Wangara, WA.

This is a fantastic opportunity to join a global leader in industrial processing equipment and mechanical systems, contributing to the repair and servicing of heavy mining infrastructure.
The successful candidate must have dogging and rigging experience, along with strong workshop and power tool knowledge. You’ll work closely with tradespeople on both site-based and workshop tasks, with a focus on safety, precision, and quality.

What you get:

• $41.00 per hour flat rate
• Monday to Friday, 6:00am – 2:00pm
• Start Monday 04th August
• Initial 3-month project with strong potential for extension
• Supportive and safety-driven workshop environment

What you need:

• Valid Australian Driver’s Licence
• Forklift Licence
• Dogging and rigging tickets – mandatory
• Overhead gantry crane experience – highly regarded
• Ability to read and interpret mechanical and fabrication drawings – essential
• Proficiency with grinders, hand tools, and power tools
  **Grinding test will be required prior to starting – must be confident and skilled**
• Previous workshop or industrial maintenance experience – highly regarded
• Strong focus on safety, accuracy, and team collaboration

What you will be doing:

• Assisting with the repair and maintenance of grizzlies and heavy mining equipment
• Supporting tradespeople in the workshop and on-site with rigging, lifting, and mechanical tasks
• Performing precision grinding and cutting with a variety of power tools
• Operating forklifts, overhead cranes, and assisting with material handling
• Following mechanical drawings and job specifications
• Maintaining a clean and hazard-free workspace while complying with all safety protocols
