Mackay Mobile Vets is a family - owned - mobile - vet clinic that travels to pet parents who struggle to get their furry, feathered or scaly family members into a traditional vet clinic (busy working parents, large breed pets, stressed pets and many others). We are here to help them.

What will my day look like?

Your day involves driving the purpose built vet van, communicating professionally and empathetically with pet owners via phone, email and in person. Your aim will be to deliver excellent customer service to pet owners.

Our highly systems based role will require you to use an iPad and iPhone and associated software and to take payments remotely with clients. Consultations require you to be able to hold animals for examinations and treatments. The role involves assisting pet owners in end of life care for their pets.

This role requires a high level of mobility, including the ability to move in and out of the vet van, move on and off the ground to handle pets, and respond quickly if animals react unpredictably.

What essential skills do we need from you?

An open clean car drivers license

A positive attitude and excellent empathetic communication skills

Vet nurse experience

Good mobility (able to get down to the floor and back up with ease).

iPhone and iPad proficiency

What we are offering…

An exciting opportunity to be part of a different kind of business within the veterinary sector in Mackay

Start date: August 11th 2025.

Set hours: Your day starts at 7am Monday – Friday with NO ON CALL requirements, finishing at 4:30pm.

Hours offered will be dependent on the right applicant. We have either a part time, or full time role up to 76 hours. Depending on what the right person can offer.

4 weeks annual leave

Remuneration based on award and experience, reviewed in 3-6 months
