Join a leading financial services organisation on a data migration project. They're seeking a skilled API Engineer to update and build API interfaces from the source system end - such as data warehouses or backend platforms. You’ll work with cutting-edge technologies to support high-performance, scalable integrations across the enterprise.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and update API interfaces that connect source systems and data warehouses
• Build robust and scalable APIs using Java and Spring Boot
• Collaborate with data engineers and architects to ensure seamless data flow during migration
• Use Jenkins for CI/CD automation and deployment processes
• Support and enhance existing API integrations and assist with performance tuning
• Collaborate closely with both onshore and offshore technical teams

Required Skills

• Strong experience as an API Engineer with backend/data-focused integrations
• Hands-on expertise in Java and Spring Boot
• Familiarity with data warehouse environments and backend system APIs
• Experience in CI/CD pipelines, especially using Jenkins
• Solid understanding of API design principles, including REST, versioning, and security
• Exposure to streaming or event-driven architectures is a bonus
• Excellent communication skills and a collaborative mindset

Contract Details

• Open to candidates in Sydney or Melbourne
• Hybrid work model: typically 2 days per week in the office
• Initial 5–6 month contract
