Director, Electoral Integrity

• New leadership role overseeing a growing regulatory function and providing strategic direction and support to the Assistant Commissioner, Electoral Integrity and Regulation

• VPS Grade 7.1 ($188,297 to $210,891 p.a. plus 12% superannuation guarantee)

• Unique opportunity to shape electoral policy design and delivery for the 2026 State election and beyond

What you will be doing

Reporting directly to the Assistant Commissioner, Electoral Integrity and Regulation, this role will be responsible for:

Setting the strategic direction and providing senior leadership for the VEC's electoral integrity function

Shaping the evolution of the electoral integrity framework, and ensuring electoral policies, procedures and processes safeguard integrity at every opportunity

Overseeing legislative coordination and translating advocacy priorities and legislative action into meaningful solutions for a complex policy area

Informing, nurturing and building relationships with government agencies and policy-makers

Driving and leading the VEC's electoral integrity function towards service excellence and striving to enhance and protect integrity in Victoria's democratic processes

What you will bring to the role

Senior leadership in public administration, legislative advocacy or public policy

Demonstrated understanding of government processes, including Cabinet, Parliamentary and machinery of government processes

Excellent verbal and written communication skills and expertise in negotiating and influencing solutions to complex organisational problems

Experience in good public administration practices, including crisis, issue and risk management, assurance, audit, integrity and statutory reporting requirements
