Graduate Engineer
The Position
Aurora Offshore Engineering is currently seeking a passionate engineer with a strong interest in offshore, marine and coastal engineering to join its growing team of highly specialised consultants. This role would also suit a part-time or close to finished PhD researcher in a similar field. While the role is full-time, part-time is negotiable for the right candidate.
Key activities will include:
numerical modelling to solve engineering problems using Excel, MatLab, Python, Orcaflex, CAD, Rhino 3D or similar tools;
preparation of engineering reports;
preparation of high quality, safe and environmentally responsible engineering solutions;
and other research and analytical tasks as required.
The Person
As the successful applicant you will have:
Tertiary qualifications in Engineering (Mechanical, Civil or similar preferred, with a high weighted average mark);
Exceptional data interpretation and graphical presentation skills;
Strong written communication skills, especially engineering report writing (proficient at formatting documents in MS Office suite);
Strong numerical skills;
Creative approach to problem solving;
Ability to think critically about how their mathematical modelling translates into the real world;
2-5 years' experience in the offshore wind industry;
Strong interest in making an active contribution to real projects that get built;
Ability to work in a team and independently;
Sound understanding of hydrodynamics, wave kinematics and pipe/soil interaction will be looked upon favourably; and
Strong technical grounding.
