Justice Health and Forensic Mental Health Network (Justice Health NSW) provides healthcare across secure inpatient, custodial, court and community settings. We deliver healthcare services to adults and young people who come into contact with, or who are at risk of coming into contact with the criminal justice system. Each year, Justice Health NSW staff care for more than 30,000 patients in our settings through dedicated in-person and virtual multidisciplinary teams. Our healthcare services comprise primary, mental health, population and prevention, specialty care services and include screening, acute and chronic care.

About the Role
Due to retirement, we are seeking our next General Manager, Population and Preventive Health. The role reports to the Chief Executive, Wendy Hoey, and is responsible for leading the operational functions, development, implementation and co-ordination of our state-wide population health, drug and alcohol services, oral health, pharmacy services, health promotion and prevention initiatives. The role drives improved health outcomes, prevention and health protection, community engagement and improved patient experience of care.
A key focus of the role is better co-ordination of services between primary, community and hospital settings and working towards greater overall efficiency of health care system delivery. The General Manager is responsible for improving the accessibility and equity of health service delivery to marginalised and priority population groups in contact with the Criminal Justice system and forensic mental health services through extensive engagement and collaboration with multiple agencies across both government and non-government health sectors. Additionally, the role provides leadership and support to the Office of Allied Health.

To succeed in this role, you will be a contemporary executive leader with significant achievement across a broad spectrum of areas including population and preventive health, integrated care, strategic planning and delivery, workforce management and clinical governance. You will display outstanding leadership and communication skills with the ability to influence multiple stakeholders across all disciplines of the health profession, government, NGOs as well as across a diverse patient community. Essential requirements
The successful candidate will possess:
- Postgraduate qualifications in public health or public policy or relevant field with a strong research evidence component.
- Significant experience managing a public health service in a complex environment.
- Experience in developing, leading and delivering health programs and health protection in priority or marginalised environments.
This is an ongoing, full-time, Band 1, Health Service Senior Executive (HSSE) role. An attractive remuneration package within the range of $239,483 - $263,586 per annum, with annual performance reviews, will be negotiated with the successful applicant.
The role will be based from Sydney, either Malabar or Sydney Olympic Park, however the organisation operates state-wide so a degree of travel will be required. Relocation support can be provided and flexible work modes are suppo
