About the role:

We are seeking a Senior Finance Business Partner to act as a key commercial leader and the 2IC to the Finance Manager, supporting operations across Victoria, Tasmania, and Western Australia. This role is pivotal in driving financial performance through deep business partnering, sharp analytics, and strategic insights.

You’ll work closely with senior stakeholders across multiple sites, providing high-impact commercial analysis, forecasting, budgeting, and variance reporting. You’ll play a central role in reviewing job costing, interpreting P&L performance, and delivering recommendations that lift efficiency and profitability.

Key Responsibilities:

Partner with Operations Managers to interpret reporting and identify opportunities for operational improvement

Lead process enhancements within admin teams to promote smarter, more efficient ways of working

Develop high-quality business reports and analytics to support sound operational decision-making

Leverage data across operational areas to deliver actionable insights, including variance analysis, standard costing reviews, and forecast support

Assist the Finance Manager with day-to-day team operations, ensuring ad hoc projects are delivered on time and to a high standard

Champion continuous improvement, driving innovation in processes, reporting, and team practices to enhance efficiency and user experience

Requirements:

CA qualification highly regarded; Tertiary qualification in Commerce, Finance, or Accounting required

Proven experience in a similar role, ideally within a service-based or contracting environment

Advanced Microsoft skills, particularly in Excel, Power Query, and Power BI

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate across both technical and operational teams

Strong analytical mindset with a proactive approach to problem-solving and solution delivery

High attention to detail, with a focus on accuracy and quality outcomes

Highly adaptable and well-organised, with the ability to juggle competing priorities in a fast-paced environment

Self-driven and proactive, with a strong ability to work autonomously while being a collaborative and dependable team player
