About the Role

We’re looking for a Senior Finance Business Partner to join a dynamic and fast-paced energy business. This role plays a critical part in shaping financial decisions, influencing senior stakeholders, and supporting key strategic initiatives to accelerate growth and deliver long-term value.

You will work at the heart of a rapidly evolving sector, providing trusted financial support across business units and enabling data-driven decision-making.

Responsibilities

• Act as a strategic partner to business leaders, offering financial guidance to support key operational and commercial decisions;
• Deliver insightful financial analysis, modelling, and forecasting to inform long-term strategy and short-term performance;
• Lead the budgeting and planning processes, ensuring alignment with company objectives and performance targets;
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including commercial, operations, and digital to drive efficiencies and improve profitability;
• Identify financial risks and opportunities, advising on mitigation strategies and ensuring robust financial governance;
• Support investment cases, new initiatives, and business transformation projects with detailed financial input and scenario modelling; and
• Contribute to continuous improvement in finance processes, tools, and reporting capabilities.

Job Criteria

Essential:

• Qualified accountant (CA/CPA/CIMA/ACCA) with post-qualification experience in a business partnering or commercial finance role;
• Strong business acumen and ability to translate complex financial data into actionable insight;
• Proven experience influencing senior stakeholders and supporting strategic decision-making;
• Excellent analytical and modelling skills with a high attention to detail;
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, change-oriented environment; and
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the confidence to challenge and guide non-finance colleagues.

Desirable:

• Experience within the energy, utilities, or technology sector;
• Knowledge of ERP and financial reporting systems (e.g., SAP, Power BI); and
• Background in large, matrixed organisations or regulated environments.
