About the Opportunity

We currently have an exciting opportunity to join the Paediatric Emergency Department (PED) team as an Associate Nurse Unit Manager, where you will be responsible for:

  • Promotes and practices client-centred nursing care, ensuring a high standard of clinical practice through adherence to professional standards, policies, protocols, and procedures.
  • Assesses, plans, implements, and coordinates care using advanced knowledge, evidence, and experience to achieve agreed patient care outcomes.
  • Actively monitors client care plans and participates in clinical reviews and audits to maintain quality patient outcomes.
  • Provides health education, counselling, and rehabilitation programs aimed at improving patient health outcomes.
  • Maintains clinical documentation in line with organisational policy and develops internal and external partnerships to support quality patient care.

About You

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • Registered or eligible for registration as a Nurse by the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia (NMBA) and who holds, or who is eligible to hold, a current practicing certificate.
  • Registered Nurse with at least 3 years post-graduation experience or currently classified as a Clinical Nurse
  • Demonstrated competence in the relevant area of nursing practice in accordance with NMBA and relevant professional college standards of practice
  • Experience in management and leadership roles
  • Well-developed interpersonal and communication skills including the ability to work with individuals and families for positive health outcomes and to foster productive working relationships across disciplines
  • Demonstrated ability to prioritise workload and meet set timelines whilst working under minimal supervision
  • Effective communication, problem solving, conflict resolution and negotiation skills
