Classification – Health Professionals Grade 2
Pay range – $47.65 to $54.34 per hour
Ongoing (the ongoing status of this position is subject to the renewal of government funding)
Up to Full-time
76.0 hours per fortnight (1.0 EFT)
60.8 hours per fortnight (0.8 EFT) may be considered
ABOUT CASACV
CASACV is a leading agency in the prevention of sexual violence and the provision of specialist, evidence-based therapeutic services for children, young people and adults across the Loddon region. Services also extend to the support networks of those affected.
All services provided by CASACV are free and confidential, and include:
Specialist counselling for adults, young people, and children who have experienced sexual assault – either recently or in the past – as well as for their non-offending parents, partners, families, and friends.
24-hour crisis care for recent sexual assault survivors, offering crisis response, support and advocacy.
The REFOCUS Program, a family-centred, early intervention therapeutic service for children and young people under 18 who have engaged in problematic or harmful sexualised behaviours (HSB).
Sector and community capacity-building through advocacy, secondary consultation, professional training, and community education.

ABOUT THE ROLE
This role is responsible for providing specialised, trauma-informed counselling and support to adults and mature teenagers who have experienced sexual assault, either recently or in the past. The role also involves providing support, guidance, and psychoeducation to non-offending caregivers and support networks to promote safety, healing, and recovery. Working as part of a multidisciplinary team, the role contributes to holistic, client-centred care through advocacy, case coordination, and collaboration with internal and external stakeholders
The role of Counsellor Advocate Adults is to:
Manage a defined client caseload ensuring high-quality service delivery
Conduct client assessments aligned with CASACV frameworks and best practice
Develop, implement, and regularly review evidence-based therapeutic treatment and counselling plans with clear, measurable goals
Advocate for clients and represent their needs within broader systems and with other professionals
Deliver crisis responses to people who have been recently sexually assaulted
Facilitate and engage in therapeutic group work sessions
Attend outreach or co-location sites as required or rostered
ABOUT YOU
With a tertiary qualification in social work, psychology, counselling, family therapy, mental health or a related discipline and a minimum of two years of experience in providing therapeutic counselling to adults and mature teenagers and their caregivers, you will be able to demonstrate:
Sound understanding of the impacts of sexual assault, family violence, and trauma on adults and mature teenagers and their care givers
Experience in developing and reviewing evidence-based therapeutic plans with measurable outcomes
Proficiency in trauma-informed, evidence-based therapeutic modalities
Skill in conducting comprehensive client, risk, and safety assessments
Clear and professional written communication skills, including case notes and reports
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to engage clients in a respectful, empathetic, and culturally safe manner
Effective time management and administrative skills in a fast-paced environment
Proven ability to work collaboratively and effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team
