The Liberal Party of South Australia is seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Finance Manager to oversee our day-to-day financial operations and support long-term financial planning, campaign budgeting, and compliance activities.

Key Responsibilities
Financial Management
Process payroll and administer staff salaries and superannuation
Manage supplier and vendor invoices in a timely manner
Oversee bookkeeping and accurately maintain internal ledgers
Support grass roots Party Units in payments to suppliers and tracking fundraising activities
Support preparation of the annual budget and deliver quarterly reports
Provide weekly budget inputs during campaign periods
Reconcile account lines and maintain accurate financial records
Prepare and lodge BAS and IAS statements with the ATO
Use Xero to manage daily operations
Strategic & Campaign Support
Assist in developing detailed campaign budgets alongside the State Director and Campaign Manager
Support long-term financial planning in collaboration with the Treasurer and State Executive
Provide reporting inputs for the Treasurer’s presentations to the State Executive
Work with internal Party Units to support ledger and budget management
Compliance & Training
Support the audit process and compliance with state and federal funding and disclosure obligations
Maintain and expand your portfolio's knowledge base
Assist the Manager, Governance & Compliance in delivering training to Party Office Bearers on their statutory and financial responsibilities
Ensure all financial practices align with Australian Accounting Standards
Skills and Experience
Essential:
Minimum 5 years’ experience using Xero or similar accounting software
CA/CPA qualified or working towards qualification
Intermediate to advanced Microsoft Excel skills
Previous experience in management accounting within a medium-sized business or not-for-profit organisation
Strong attention to detail and commitment to high-quality work
Ability to work independently and manage multiple deadlines
Desirable:
Experience working with member-based or volunteer-led organisations
An interest in politics or current affairs
Understanding of the Liberal Party’s Constitution and values
