Sydney CBD with hybrid working – 12-month temporary role - $80 - $90/hr + super

Company Background

Our client is a high-profile public sector organisation at the heart of government. They are seeking an experienced Senior Accountant to join their team on a long-term temporary engagement initially, to help lead them through audit and manage a small team.

The Role

As the Senior Accountant, you will focus on:

Ensuring a smooth audit process and acting as the key contact for the external auditors

Oversee the asset reporting and valuation process

Preparing and delivering financial statements

Preparing statutory reports in line with standards

Preparing tax returns (FBT, Payroll tax, GST)

Preparing annual reports

Managing a team of 3

Your Background

To be considered for this Senior Accountant role, you will have the following skills and attributes:

Immediate availability

Prior experience working within or auditing a government agency

Professional qualification (CA / CPA)

Large ERP system experience (SAP / Oracle)

Experience with asset valuation

Previous supervisory/management experience is preferred
