The Role

A leading consulting firm is seeking experienced API Engineers to support a transformation program for a large banking client. This is a 6-month contract with a strong likelihood of extension. You'll be working on the backend specifically updating and enhancing APIs at the source/data warehouse level, not the mobile or front-end side.

Responsibilities

• Build, update, and maintain APIs connected to backend systems and data warehouses.
• Use Java and Spring Boot to develop scalable, secure, and reliable interfaces.
• Collaborate with architects, BAs, testers, and other engineers across the delivery life cycle.
• Ensure API solutions meet business requirements, performance benchmarks, and security standards.

About You

• 3+ years of API engineering experience in a backend or data integration environment.
• Strong hands-on experience with Java and Spring Boot frameworks.
• Understanding of API architecture and integration patterns, especially from a source/data layer.
• Previous experience in banking, financial services, or consulting projects is highly regarded.
