Metropolitan Memorial Parks is seeking dedicated and experienced team members to join our burials team at our Rookwood General Cemetery.

About the Role

The primary responsibility of this role is to uphold the highest standards in burial services, ensuring exceptional service and professionalism for our families. Additionally, you will collaborate with the grounds maintenance team to meet operational needs.

Key Responsibilities

Undertake burial requirements, including digging, site preparation, and final presentation under direction.

Assist in funeral services as needed.

Identify cemetery sections and grave locations.

Contribute to general grounds maintenance as requested.

Communicate effectively with Funeral Directors, Clergy, families and the public.

Prioritise personal and teamwork health and safety, adhering to procedures.

About You:

The ideal candidate is a well-presented, proactive team player with the ability to complete tasks within set timeframes. Desired qualifications and characteristics include:

Industry experience is an advantage, however not a requirement, training will be provided.

Proactive team player, teamwork is crucial in this role.

Ability to prioritise and complete projects within specified timeframes.

Enjoyment of outdoor work in various climates.

Current NSW Driver’s license (manual vehicle driving capability).

White Card (or willingness to obtain).

Truck license (LR, MR, or HR), excavator, and backhoe experience are desirable.

Understanding of Work Health & Safety legislation (essential).
