The opportunity
Our Workshop team are searching for their next Mechanic. This opportunity would perfectly suit a motivated individual who is interested in expanding their experience with a wide range of mechanical matters within Councils diverse fleet including light and heavy vehicles. In addition, including a vast range of small, construction plant and small plant items.
This is a permanent opportunity – working full-time working 38 hours over 4 days
Base Salary Range: $65,987 - $74,884 pa based on 38 hours / week + 12% superannuation + $2,312 retention allowance - salary reflective of 2024/25 FY rates and will increase by 4% from end of July 2025.
You will be working from Raymond Terrace Works Depot

Service, inspect, and repair Council vehicles and equipment, including Rural Fire Service and external customer fleets
Ensure all work meets industry, RTA, and safety standards, including WH&S compliance
Supervise and train apprentices while working independently both in the workshop and on-site

HR License
Trade Certificate – Motor Mechanic / Heavy Vehicle
Experience in small plant maintenance and repairs
