About the role

We require an experienced mechanic to work in our busy diesel engine and transmission reconditioning shop.

Main duties

-Removing and reinstalling truck engine assemblies, transmissions etc.

-Identifying and troubleshooting issues with engines and transmissions.

-Disassembling engines and transmissions.

-Assessing components with precision measuring equipment and liaising with our in house machine shop.

-Creating parts lists of required replacement components.

-Reassembling engines and transmissions using service manuals etc.

-Test running and carrying out checks on finished engines and transmissions.

Skills and Experience

-At least 3 years’ experience working with Japanese diesel engines and Japanese truck transmissions.

-NSW motor mechanic’s license

-Demonstrated expertise in diesel engine and truck transmission trouble shooting and repair.

-Experience with precision measuring tools
