About the role
We're looking for a qualified motorcycle mechanic to join Team FONZ who will work with different FONZ electric road-registered bikes. You will be communicating with customers, doing servicing according to job sheets, assist production team in building electric motorbikes, fault finding, repairing and invoicing the customers. Overall, you will have the opportunity to make your own mark in the company with frequent travel in New South Wales and interstate for field services.
In this role you will have the opportunity to upskill learning about new technologies relating to electric powertrains.
Responsibilities
Detect and diagnose faults in electric motorcycles and parts
Build electric motorbikes including sub assemblies, brake systems, ignition systems and other components
Repair and replace worn and defective parts and reassemble mechanical components and refer to FONZ service manual as needed
Perform scheduled service and maintenance checks such as lubricating parts, flushing and changing brake components, changing tyres, checking electronic parts
Test and adjust mechanical parts after being repaired for proper performance, diagnosis, and test parts with the assistance of computers
Inspect and test ride vehicles for roadworthiness before registration and deliver vehicles to customers afterwards
Communicate service and repair tasks to customers and invoice accordingly
Field services including on-site diagnostics, service and repairs
Experience and requirements
Qualified motorcycle mechanic ideally with plus five years working experience, including two years of working experience in Australia
Experience working with electric motor powertrains
Competence to follow 3D designs and electronic diagrams
Must have a full manual driving and motorcycle licence. Forklift licence (LF) preferred
Fluent English to communicate with customers
Welding experience (MIG and TIG in aluminium) desirable
A team player who is focused on providing exemplary quality workmanship
A desire to learn and develop your technical/mechanical ability
Ability to mentor / provide guidance to junior technicians/apprentices
Interstate travel to conduct mobile field services will require 1-2 trips per month.
