Established in 2000, Cigarworld Australia, based in Gold Coast, Queensland, is a leading provider of high-quality products, such as cigars, pipe tobacco and accessories and excellent service. We are seeking a capable Software Engineer to develop and maintain scalable, high-quality applications that empower our business. Applicant’s primary focus will be on building and supporting web applications, producing high quality, reusable and efficient code based on requirements, specifications and the direction and guidance of the business.

Workload: Full-time, 38 hours a week

Salary: 75,000-77,000

Your Tasks:

Analysing company needs and understanding the requirements for the software, implementing the software design using relevant programming languages

Testing the software, ensuring the developed software functions correctly and meets quality standards.

Identifying and resolving issues with new and existing software. Implementing new features and fixes to the existing software. Writing and executing tests for both existing and new code to ensure compatibility and reliability.

Maintaining clear and concise documentation for the software, including development of the technical specifications and operational procedures in compliance with quality standards.

Ensuring the software functions correctly on various operating systems and devices.

Collecting and analysing data to improve software performance and user experience.

Working with project manager, sales team, and product owners to ensure the software meets all requirements, also providing expert advice and guidance regarding strategies for software development activities, including recommendations for software purchases and upgrades.

Exploring new technologies and approaches to software development. Testing new concepts or software before full-scale development.

Your Skills:

Required:

Over 5 years of experience in software development of the web-based application code in luxury/fine goods e-commerce for top international brands (tobacco ideal).

Demonstrable experience coding in PHP and React

Experience in web development technologies including JavaScript libraries, React, HTML, CSS

Experience with SQL.

Fundamental knowledge of secure coding processes, application security and security protocols.

Excellent written and verbal communications skills & a can-do attitude.

A team player with the ability to take on leadership roles as needed.

Commitment to ongoing professional development.

Desired:

Demonstrated expertise of working within the tobacco industry and knowledge legislation for tobacco in Australia

Demonstratable experience in coding RESTful APIs.

Fluent in Russian and Kazakh.

Familiarity with Azure Cloud technologies and experience with Kendo UI.

Your qualifications:

Bachelor of Computer Science / Engineering or equivalent.
