From award-winning trampolines to smart-connected home fitness systems, we bring together creativity, technology, and engineering excellence to deliver products loved by families around the world.
The Opportunity
We’re seeking an Embedded Systems Engineer (or Embedded Software/Hardware Engineer) to join our agile, product-focused team. This is a unique cross-functional role for someone early in their engineering career (~5 years of experience), who thrives at the intersection of software and hardware. You’ll work on the development of next-generation smart IoT play and fitness products, from firmware through to physical integration.
Key Responsibilities
Design, develop, and maintain embedded software and firmware for our interactive product platform, with a focus on low-level programming using C/C++ on platforms such as ESP32 or similar.
Integrate IoT hardware and software, contributing to the seamless communication between our devices.
Collaborate closely with industrial designers, animators, and gameplay designers to bring interactive features to life in a compact, real-world product, and provide technical solutions that bridge creative ideas with functional embedded systems.
Prototype and test physical hardware integrations (e.g., sensors, Bluetooth modules, power systems), ensuring functionality in live, real-world scenarios.
Debug and optimize embedded code for performance, power efficiency, and responsiveness.
Explore and implement AI-assisted tools or workflows that can accelerate software development or embedded logic optimization.
Communicate technical insights clearly across teams, including non-engineering stakeholders, in both English and Mandarin.
What We’re Looking For
5 years of relevant engineering experience, ideally in a product-driven environment.
Strong programming skills in C/C++ for embedded systems.
Proven experience with IoT hardware and software development, ideally for consumer electronics.
Practical knowledge of embedded systems, microcontrollers, and real-time programming.
Experience with the ESP32 platform (or similar) highly preferred.
Background in Electrical/Electronic Engineering with a solid foundation in Software Engineering.
Fluent in English and Mandarin – capable of communicating technical detail in both.
Preferably has prior experience in the Shanghai tech ecosystem or similar innovation hubs.
Curious, collaborative, and open to leveraging modern tools like AI-assisted programming (e.g., GitHub Copilot, ChatGPT, etc.).
Why Join Vuly?
Work on industry-first smart outdoor and fitness products.
Collaborate with a world-class team of designers and makers.
Great workspace and creative culture at our HQ in Brisbane.
Flexible, forward-thinking team open to the latest tools and development methods.
Opportunities to grow in a global company pushing boundaries in design and engineering.
If you’re ready to build the future of play and fitness tech, we’d love to hear from you. Send your CV and a brief cover letter
