About the Role

As the Joint Replacement Fellow, you will play a key role in delivering high-quality care to patients requiring complex joint replacement procedures. Working under the guidance of the Head of Unit and senior orthopaedic consultants, you will provide day-to-day management of inpatients and outpatients, ensuring excellence in clinical practice. This hands-on role offers the opportunity to further develop your expertise in joint replacement surgery while contributing to multidisciplinary patient care within a leading orthopaedic unit.

In addition to clinical responsibilities, you will supervise and support the professional development of Resident Medical Officers and Interns, assist with postgraduate teaching, and actively contribute to departmental research programs. You will also lead designated projects and participate in clinical review programs aimed at continuous quality improvement. This role provides a dynamic environment to expand your surgical skills, advance academic interests, and make a meaningful contribution to patient outcomes in orthopaedics.

About You

You are a highly skilled orthopaedic surgeon with advanced expertise in joint replacement and a strong commitment to delivering exceptional patient care. Your leadership, teaching, and research experience complement your ability to thrive in a multidisciplinary hospital environment while contributing to service improvement and innovation.

To be successful in this role, you will demonstrate:

MBBS or equivalent, registrable with AHPRA, with completion of specialist orthopaedic surgical training, ATLS (or equivalent), and advanced fracture management courses.

Proven ability to supervise, direct and support junior medical staff while fostering respectful relationships with patients, families, and colleagues.

Strong clinical, communication, and organisational skills, with experience in managing hospital medical services and resolving complex challenges.

Demonstrated research achievements, sound knowledge of hospital systems, and understanding of workplace safety and Equal Opportunity principles.
