About this opportunity:
The Contract Coordinator will lead and support a team of Contract Officers and Contract Administration Officers contributing to the operational success of Mackay Regional Council through the effective control of Council's tendering and contract management functions. This role is responsible for overseeing the end-to-end contract management process, including tender preparation, evaluation, and ongoing administration while ensuring compliance with Council's procurement policies and relevant legislation. The successful candidate will provide expert advice on procurement procedures and contract terms, collaborate with stakeholders to align contract strategies with operational goals, and implement robust risk management and reporting practices to support transparency and efficiency across Council's procurement activities.
Essential Qualifications, Experience & Skills:
- Proven experience in contract management, strategic sourcing, and procurement.
- Strong Leadership and team coordination skills.
- In-depth knowledge of sourcing processes, contract law, and risk management.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement abilities
- Significant experience and understanding of contract management software programs and IT systems
- QLD 'C' Class Drivers Licence or interstate equivalent.
