Why this role exists

This role exists because Galaxy City is ripping out the manual plumbing that still props up most construction projects and replacing it with a fully integrated, data-driven nervous system. Your mandate is to be the engineer who welds every pipe—Revit exports, job data, supplier APIs, IoT feeds—into a single, resilient service layer, then surface that live intelligence through dashboards the field team actually trusts. Success means schedules adjust themselves when drawings change, cost centers update the instant a beam length shifts, and risk alerts fire before anyone on site even knows there’s a problem. In short, you’ll code the backbone that lets a lean crew deliver builds faster, more cost effective and with near-real-time transparency—turning a notoriously stale industry into one that finally runs at tech-sector speed.

What you’ll do (day-to-day)

Program event-driven services that keep data flowing in near-real time.

Integrate Revit exports, project management software, and every oddball vendor API we throw at you.

Navigate webhook storms—auto-retry, back-off, alert.

Generate fast, elegant UIs (React/Node or Python/FastAPI) so humans actually trust the data.

Must-haves

Comfortable with Python and Node.js in prod.

Ownership of REST/OAuth pipelines end-to-end.

Database design chops: Postgres, Timescale, S3 for blobs.

Every-night CI/CD habits; Docker in your sleep, IaC a plus.

Nice-to-haves

Revit API/Dynamo, quantity-surveying data, Office 365 or Slack bots.

DevOps & future integrations

Containerise, deploy and monitor in AWS or Azure (logs that actually mean something).
