About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Maintenance Officer to maintain a portfolio of properties in Sydney, Newcastle, Melbourne, and Brisbane. This role is perfect for someone with the right mix of experience, a willingness to learn, and strong communication skills.

As the SSW Maintenance Officer, you will strive to ensure all properties are safe, presentable, and well maintained. You will be working with the owners, performing an array of repair and improvement tasks as well as managing and liaising with contractors when necessary.

Salary: $75,000 salary including super
Location: Neutral Bay, Sydney (Primary Office)
Travel: Required to Newcastle, Melbourne, Brisbane

Key Responsibilities

Applying and repairing paint and plaster

Fitting, repairing, and replacing fixtures and fittings (e.g., lightbulbs and doors)

Basic electrical work

Performing basic plumbing maintenance and repairs on taps, basins and toilets (e.g., toilet seats).

Performing straightforward carpentry

Informing owners of the requirements of significant repairs or improvements

Managing and communicating with contractors and tradesmen, where required

Clearing common areas

Basic HVAC system maintenance

Basic gardening tasks

Role Requirements

Experience:

Past Maintenance officer, handyman or trade experience.

Painting experience is necessary.

Electrical experience is an advantage.

Skills:

A sharp eye 👁️✨.

Strong communication skills.

Ability to work collaboratively and accept feedback.

Problem-solving mindset with a proactive approach.

Receive feedback well.

Travel Ability:

While Sydney will be the primary service location, there will be requirements to travel to Newcastle, Melbourne, and Brisbane as needed.
