About the role

First Years Early Learning is seeking a talented and experienced Cook/Chef to join their team in Elanora, Queensland. As a part-time Cook/Chef, you will be responsible for preparing delicious and nutritious meals for the children in our care. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to the wellbeing and development of young children in a supportive and nurturing environment.

What you'll be doing

Plan, prepare and cook meals that are healthy, balanced and appealing to children

Ensure all food preparation and storage adheres to relevant health and safety regulations

Maintain an organised and hygienic kitchen environment

Collaborate with the childcare team to understand the dietary needs and preferences of the children

Order and manage food supplies to maintain adequate stock levels

Contribute to the development of the centre's seasonal menu

What we're looking for

Relevant experience as a Cook or Chef, preferably in a childcare or similar setting

Strong knowledge of nutrition, food safety and hygiene practices

Excellent time management and organisational skills

Ability to work well in a team and communicate effectively with colleagues

Passion for providing high-quality, nutritious meals for young children

Current Food Safety Supervisor certification or willingness to obtain
