JKL Product Solutions is a respected and growing service provider to the timber and sawmilling industry across Australia. As the exclusive Australian partner for Nicholson Manufacturing, Kadant Carmanah, and Mendes Sawmilling Equipment, our Site Services Division plays a vital role in supporting both machinery sales and long-term maintenance agreements with key clients.

We are seeking a qualified and experienced Maintenance Fitter to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in sawmill equipment maintenance. This role involves regular travel to client sites — up to two weeks per month — and requires a high level of professionalism, independence, and commitment to quality work.

Key Responsibilities:

Perform scheduled and breakdown maintenance on sawmill and timber processing equipment at client sites across Australia

Conduct service and inspection visits in support of our agency partners' equipment, including Nicholson Debarkers, Kadant Carmanah Chippers, and Mendes Sawmilling Equipment

Assist with equipment installs & upgrades when required

Uphold and enforce strict site safety and quality standards

Provide professional, client-facing service with clear communication and timely delivery

Essential Requirements:

Trade-qualified Mechanical Fitter/Fitter & Turner with a minimum of 5 years' maintenance experience

Demonstrated experience in sawmill machinery maintenance

Previous Moulder servicing experience highly desirable

Welding and fabrication skills advantageous

Ability to travel extensively (up to 2 weeks/month)

Proven ability to work independently, manage time, and solve problems on the go

Strong work ethic and commitment to customer service and job completion

Physically fit and able to pass a pre-employment medical including drug and alcohol screening

Preferred (but not essential):

Working at Heights certification

Confined Space certification

Dogman Ticket

Current First Aid certificate
