Financial Controller – National Finance Leadership Role

A leading professional services organisation is seeking a Financial Controller to join their national finance team. Reporting directly to the CFO, this newly created contract role offers a unique opportunity to lead core finance operations while driving transformation across systems and processes.
You’ll combine hands-on leadership with strategic oversight, contributing to national projects, supporting key decision-makers, and helping to modernise the finance function.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead financial accounting, payroll, internal tax and trust functions
• Manage month-end, year-end and external audit processes
• Ensure compliance with tax, audit and regulatory requirements
• Oversee cash flow forecasting, treasury and partner payments
• Provide insights to CFO, Board and Audit Committee
• Mentor and develop a high-performing finance team
• Support budgeting, forecasting, and planning cycles
• Drive automation, process improvement and contribute to AI adoption

About You:

• CA/CPA qualified with senior finance leadership experience
• Background in professional services or complex corporate settings
• Skilled in compliance, reporting, and financial systems (Workday preferred)
• Proven ability to lead through change and improve processes
• Strong communicator with a collaborative, strategic mindset
