Carers Victoria
Posted 1 day ago
Carers Victoria is the peak body representing the needs and interests of unpaid carers across Victoria. We’re a for-purpose organisation working to ensure unpaid carers are recognised, supported and connected. We provide advice, respite, education and advocacy.
About the role
As the Practice Leader - Regional Carer Engagement, you will oversee the planning and delivery of group-based activities for unpaid carers across Victoria. Working closely with a team of 6 Regional Carer Navigators located across Victoria, and an Event Coordinator, you’ll guide the consistent, inclusive, and high-quality implementation of programs that build connections and wellbeing for carers across Victoria.
At the same time, you’ll be hands on in Melbourne’s West, directly delivering group activities, cultivating partnerships with local councils and services, and strengthening group support for carers.
This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who loves collaborating, leading with purpose, and designing programs that create real and lasting impact. If you thrive on connecting people, building partnerships, and leading with purpose, this is your chance to shape impact at both local and state levels.
What you’ll be doing
- Delivery of Carers Victoria’s statewide group-based activities program, driving innovation in formats, engagement models, and outreach – including the rollout of new initiatives
- Coaching and guiding six Regional Carer Navigators located across Victoria to build strong local engagement plans and deliver impactful, inclusive carer activities.
- Oversee an Event Coordinator, ensuring activities are smoothly executed and consistently promoted
- Deliver local programs in Western Melbourne, directly facilitating group activities and representing Carers Victoria in local forums
- Build strong partnerships with councils, community organisations, health services and other stakeholders to strengthen referral pathways and carer support networks
- Monitor outcomes and report on participation, effectiveness, and opportunities for improvement
- Champion consistency, innovation and quality across all regions while responding to the unique needs of each local carer community.
What we’re looking for
- A natural connector, with experience in community engagement, service delivery, or program coordination
- A problem-solver and innovator who embraces inclusive, culturally safe, and evidence-informed approaches
- A practice leader who can coach, guide, and align a dispersed team toward common goals
- A creative thinker who can design and implement programs that are inclusive, engaging and measurable
- A business development mindset – energy and passion to build external partnerships that expand reach and impact
- Excellent communication and project management skills
Qualifications
- Tertiary qualifications in community development, social work, public health or related field
- Valid driver’s licence and access to a vehicle
- Willingness to provide a current Working with Children Check and undertake a police check prior to commencement
