As a Fiber Laser Technician at MACRO, you will play a key role in delivering exceptional service to our customers. You will be responsible, along with our other technicians, for the installation, troubleshooting, maintenance, and servicing of fiber laser equipment. This is a hands-on, field-based role that requires technical expertise, problem-solving skills, and a passion for laser technology.
Key Responsibilities:
Onsite Installations:
Perform new fiber laser system installations at customer locations.
Ensure equipment is fully calibrated, optimized, and ready for operation.
Train customer personnel on safe operation and basic maintenance of the systems, as well as thorough training on the use of the machine.
Service & Troubleshooting:
Provide virtual and onsite troubleshooting and technical support for clients.
Diagnose and resolve hardware and software issues promptly to minimize downtime.
Perform preventive maintenance and system updates as needed.
Troubleshoot electrical, optical, and mechanical issues using specialized tools and diagnostic techniques.
Customer Support:
Act as the main point of contact for technical support, ensuring a high level of customer satisfaction.
Assist in educating clients on best practices for operating and maintaining their fiber lasers.
Documentation & Reporting:
Maintain detailed records of service calls, installations, repairs, and other technical interventions.
Report service trends, potential product improvements, and customer feedback to the relevant internal teams.
Key Skills & Qualifications:
Experience:
Proven experience with fiber laser systems, preferably in installation, servicing, or troubleshooting.
Experience in industrial maintenance or electrical engineering is highly advantageous.
Technical Proficiency - Strong understanding of fiber laser operation, electrical circuits, and mechanical systems.
Communication & Customer Service:
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build positive relationships with customers.
Problem Solving & Attention to Detail:
Ability to quickly identify issues and implement effective solutions.
Strong attention to detail and commitment to providing high-quality service.
Travel & Flexibility:
Willingness to travel to customer sites as required (some overnight travel may be needed).
Ability to work independently, manage time effectively, and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
Desirable:
A relevant engineering or technical qualification.
Familiarity with the laser cutting, engraving, or marking industries.
Experience with other types of laser systems or CNC machinery is a plus.
