We are excited to offer an opportunity to join our Little Stars Early Learning Centre team. We are seeking a passionate and experienced Educational Leader to join our ELC on a 12-month maternity leave contract.
About the Role
As an experienced Leader, you will ensure the early childhood program meets the goals of the approved learning framework, the Queensland Kindergarten Learning Guidelines, and the International Baccalaureate Primary Years Program (PYP), helping to guide and implement best practices.
Key details:
Part-time, 12-month maternity leave position, Monday and Tuesday
Sessional teaching hours with paid school holidays (7 weeks prorata total: 4 weeks at Christmas and 1 week each term)
Working hours: Flexible two 8-hour days to lead and facilitate.

About You
Your skills and experience include:
Bachelor’s degree in early childhood education (or ACECQA-approved equivalent) or Diploma of Early Childhood Education and Care (or equivalent)
Current Working with Children Check (Blue Card) and First Aid/CPR certification (or willingness to obtain)
Accredited Child Protection Training
Minimum 3 years’ experience in a leadership role in an Early Childhood Service or minimum 5 years’ experience working in an Early Childhood Service.
Be willing to accept the role of Responsible Person under the Education and Care Services National Law Application Bill 2010 and Education and Care Services National Regulation.
Demonstrated knowledge of the Early Years Learning Framework V2.0 (EYLF) and Education and Care Services National Law (2010), Education and Care Services National Regulations (2011), Family Assistance Law (Child Care Subsidy 2018)
Knowledge of the International Baccalaureate Primary Years Program (PYP)
Key Responsibilities
Be responsible for the development, implementation and reflection of a high-quality program based on service values and philosophy in collaboration with the director, educators and management.
Inspire and mentor educators on the implementation of service pedagogy/program to ensure compliance with the National Quality Framework (NQF), National Law, and National Regulations, as well as the National Quality Standard and approved learning frameworks, including the EYLF V2.0 and Queensland Kindergarten Learning Guidelines, and the PYP framework.
Assist the Director in maintaining a healthy indoor and outdoor environment. Commitment to continual improvement of the quality of care and experience each child and family receives
Ensure the early childhood program meets the goals of the approved learning frameworks we work within
Supervise the collection, recording and evaluation of children’s records and observations, as required under the Education and Care Services National Regulations and regulatory authority and ensure all educators within the service comply with these requirements
In collaboration with the director, assist with the development, implementation and update of the Quality Improvement Plan for the service
Build and maintain positive relationships with children, families, educators and staff to deliver best outcomes for families and children
Promote a healthy team environment and develop positive channels of communication to foster a cohesive team environment where educators feel supported and valued
Facilitate and participate in ongoing professional development and training programs
Provide feedback to educators regarding their conduct and work practices about the service program, whilst creating a supportive workplace environment
Oversee the assessment and planning cycle to design programs that enhance and extend each child’s learning and development. This includes observation, analysis of learning, documentation, planning, implementation, and reflection.
Build positive relationships with children, families, and the wider school community
Collaborate with Junior Years teachers to ensure a smooth transition for children from Kindergarten to Prep
Engage in ongoing professional development to stay current with best practices in early childhood education
