Sophia Mundi Steiner and International Baccalaureate World School, located in the vibrant Abbotsford Convent arts precinct, is seeking an experienced and inspiring Cello Tutor to join our thriving P-12 music program.

About the role

Days: Initially 1 day per week, with the potential to expand

Commencement: Term 3, 2025 from Monday 21 July

Employment type: Casual position at $72 per hour

Future opportunity: Potential to transition to a part-time position with regular work from 2026 onwards.

Key responsibilities

Teach individual cello students from beginner to advanced levels

Deliver Classical, folk, and contemporary repertoire and technique with confidence

Prepare students for AMEB examinations and the IB Diploma Music course

Contribute positively and collegially to our Instrumental Music team

Use school systems and relevant digital tools (Compass, Office 365, MuseScore) effectively

About you

Highly skilled and experienced cello teacher who is able to engage and inspire students of all ages and abilities

Warmth, empathy, and a genuine interest in the wellbeing of young people

Professional integrity, reliability, accountability, and committed to ongoing learning

Experience with Steiner education and/or the IB curriculum is an advantage

VIT registration preferred; valid Working With Children Check (WWCC) required
