About the team:
The City Inspectorate branch is responsible for enforcement of the City’s standards and local laws, across building, community, public safety and environmental health compliance to protect safety and amenity for the City’s residents and visitors.
The Community Compliance business unit is responsible for:
Patrolling and enforcing parking laws in paid parking and timed parking areas, off-street regulated parking areas, designated disabled parking bays, and respond to and investigate complaints and breaches of parking regulations.
Reviewing and managing unpaid parking fines and related disputes.
Delivering animal management initiatives to residents including patrols and enforcement, impounding and off leash facilities, pet education, and complaints management, to ensure animals are appropriately cared for and managed in compliance with legislation.
About your new role:
The Regulatory Officer is responsible for performing essential regulatory duties to ensure the efficient and accurate execution of various regulatory functions within the Compliance Ranger Unit operations.
Your responsibilities will include:
Process appeals and infringement reviews in line with established policies and procedures.
Assist with complaint triage, compliance education and support services, as required.
Ensure sensitive information is handled with discretion to meet Privacy legislation and City policies and procedures.
Issue decisions by using clear written and verbal communication to articulate decisions that are regulatory and legislatively based.
Manage information accurately in accordance with established systems and processes, to ensure data integrity, operational efficiency, and information security.
Plan and prioritise daily tasks by assessing workload, deadlines, and task importance to ensure timely and efficient completion of operational responsibilities.
Utilise organisational knowledge and data to exercise discretion, refine processes and elevate the customer experience.
Provide support by using technical systems and specialised procedural knowledge.
Contribute to a culture focused on high safety and wellbeing
Ensure all activities undertaken reflect the organisation’s High Performance Principles

A Certificate 3 in Business Administration or equivalent knowledge.
