We are seeking a self-motivated and team-oriented Treatment and Maintenance Operator who has a practical mindset, to operate and maintain our assets in Kerang and identify opportunities for process improvement.

About the role:

As an LMW Treatment and Maintenance Operator, your primary objective is to ensure the safe and efficient operation of LMW’s water, and wastewater assets. Based in Kerang and servicing the Koondrook and Murrabit sites, you will work as part of a passionate and experienced team. Duties include carrying out routine checks and testing on a range of plant operations, repairs/maintenance of water, and sewerage assets while constantly working to improve equipment or processes and troubleshooting onsite to resolve issues.

No water industry experience is necessary! We will provide on-the-job training and experience with industry specific Certificate III training. Our team is made up of people from all different experiences and backgrounds, so you simply need to be willing to learn.

Key responsibilities of this role include:

Engaging contribution to a safety-first culture

Contribution to a positive team culture

Operation, Maintenance and Repair of the water and wastewater treatment and reticulation networks including pump stations to meet customer expectations and regulatory requirements.

Assist in the quarterly meter change over program.

Flexibility with availability as overtime and out-of-hours work will be required at times.

Be available and participate in the on-call roster and perform weekend and/or shift work when required to meet organisational requirements.

About Lower Murray Water

Lower Murray Urban and Rural Water Authority was created under the provisions of the Water Act 1989 via Order in Council effective 1st of July 2004. It assumed the whole of the property, rights, liabilities, obligations, powers and functions under the Water Act 1989 of the Lower Murray Region Water Authority and Sunraysia Rural Water Authority. LMW reports to the Minister for Water, Environment & Climate Change Ms Lisa Neville.

The Water (Governance Act) 2006 varied the form and title of Lower Murray Water and established new governance arrangements effective from 1st July 2007. Lower Murray Urban and Rural Water Authority is now Lower Murray Urban and Rural Water Corporation.

On 19th August 2008 a Ministerial Determination under Section 87 of the Water Act 1989, appointed Lower Murray Urban and Rural Water Corporation to take over the whole of the functions, powers and duties of First Mildura Irrigation Trust under the Act, including its functions in respect of all of its districts under the Act.
