The right candidate:
We are seeking an experienced NDT Technician based in Sydney to join us on permanent basis to expand our Asset Assurance and NDT business lines.
Specific role responsibilities:
Perform various NDT methods (e.g., UT, MT, PT, RT, VT) in accordance with procedures and standards such as AS 4037, ASME, ISO, or API codes
Interpret and evaluate test results, generate accurate and timely inspection reports
Calibrate and maintain NDT equipment to ensure compliance with regulatory and quality standards
Liaise with clients and project coordinators regarding job scope, site access, and reporting requirements
Perform site visits, mobilisations, and de-mobilisations as needed
Adhere to AmSpec’s safety and quality systems at all times during work
Assist in development and review of inspection procedures and method statements
Maintain records of inspections and ensure proper document control
Participate in internal audits, toolbox talks, and training as required
Conduct risk assessments and hazard identifications prior to starting inspection work
Support senior technicians or team leaders as needed on large-scale or complex projects
Essential Requirements:
Degree qualification in Mechanical Engineering is required as the role is in direct association with Asset Integrity Engineering field
Valid Welding Inspector’s Qualifications (CSWIP3.1 or Equivalent)
Current NDT Level II certification in RT, MT, DP and UT
Working skills in PAUT – Corrosion scanning, PMI / XRF, HT, FT and Vacuum Box operation
Required Skills and Qualifications:
Valid Driver’s License
Current Confined Space and Working at Heights certification
Construction White Card
Good communication skills – written and verbal
Advanced MS Offices skills and knowledge
Strong attention to detail
Proactive and able to respond to changing environment
Ability to cope with tight deadlines
