We are currently seeking to appoint a full-time permanent Asphalt Design and Performance Technician. Reporting into the Technical and Laboratory Manager you will be responsible for the design and creation of asphalt mix designs and performance testing as well as review and issue NATA endorsed reports. Additionally, you will oversee the daily requirements of a laboratory including sampling, sample preparation, testing, training, research, equipment checks and maintenance in line with the laboratory quality system.

ABOUT YOU

• Knowledge and experience in one of the following technology areas is desirable; Bituminous Binders, Asphalt Design, Pavement Engineering
• Cert IV in Laboratory Technology or higher
• Previous NATA signatory or proven ability to become a signatory.
• Experience in asphalt testing highly desirable
• Experience in researching and understanding complex information to develop and implement technical solutions
• A flair for problem-solving and formulating solutions
• Strong safety focus - actively participate in and support Downer Zero Harm initiatives and strategies
