  • Full-time Permanent (38 hours per week)

  • Base salary + salary packaging benefits up to $18,550 (pay less tax) + 12% superannuation – Take home more pay

About the Role:

As an Assistant Development Manager at Uniting, you’ll support the delivery of meaningful property projects that serve and strengthen our communities. Working alongside experienced Development Managers, you’ll be involved in every stage of development, from early planning through to construction, helping ensure projects are well-managed, purposeful, and aligned with Uniting’s mission.

Your work will contribute to creating inclusive, high-quality spaces across aged care, retirement living, and community housing.

Your key responsibilities include:

  • Work alongside Development Managers to support the delivery of property projects by managing key administrative, technical, and project-related activities.
  • Schedule and coordinate meetings, prepare and circulate minutes, and track action items to ensure nothing slips through the cracks.
  • Update and maintain vital project management data including timelines, budgets, schedules, and task lists.
  • Process and track purchase orders and invoices, and ensure financial documentation is complete and accurate.
  • Manage project documentation—receiving, filing, distributing, and creating key documents. You'll also handle consultant tenders and contract communications.
  • Facilitate communication across teams and departments, ensuring everyone is on the same page and accountable for follow-ups.
  • Help shape and streamline internal processes by developing templates, tools, and best-practice resources for the wider property development team.

Your Qualifications and Experience:

  • Minimum 5 years of property investment, development, construction, architecture/design, property/project management or related technical experience
  • Demonstrated skills, knowledge and experience in project coordination, administration and governance
  • Previous experience in contributing to quality improvement and best practice
  • Well-developed written and verbal communication skills and effective relationship building skills with associated team members, colleagues and other internal and external stakeholders
  • Computer literacy and competency in major software including Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Project, Visio, Adobe – experience with Aconex / Procore, EstateMaster are advantageous
  • High levels of attention to detail, ability to prioritise and meet competing deadlines, strong analytical and organisational skills to deliver across multiple projects
  • Skilled at navigating a complex organisation, forging relationships, effective communication and managing through influence
  • A demonstrated passion for social change and contributing to an organisation of influence for the most disadvantaged
