UPanel Sydney is a new modular concrete wall and sleeper manufacturer based on the Central Coast. We produce concrete wall panels for building houses and also concrete sleepers for retaining walls. We are a small team needing to grow to meet the demand of the market.

As we continue to grow, we are seeking a skilled and motivated Factory Maintenance Technician to join our team and support our mission of delivering quality products on time, every time.

Position overview

The Factory Maintenance Technician plays a vital role in ensuring the reliable and efficient operation of our concrete batching and wet cast moulding plant. This role involves performing routine maintenance on a wide range of machinery and plant, and contributing to equipment optimisation, continuous improvement, and the installation and modification of new and existing equipment. The role also requires some batching assistance.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct routine preventative maintenance on a broad range of process equipment and factory infrastructure.

• Provide rapid, hands-on mechanical support for unplanned equipment breakdowns, troubleshooting and resolving issues quickly to minimise production downtime.

• Work closely with production teams to optimise equipment performance and overall facility efficiency.

• Assist with and support continuous improvement initiatives, including upgrades, modifications, and installations of new machinery.

• Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, breakdowns, and improvements.

• Ensure all maintenance work is completed safely, efficiently, and in line with workplace health and safety standards.

Desirable Attributes

• Experience in maintaining concrete batching plants

• Experience with electrical systems, pneumatic and hydraulic systems (preferred but not essential).

• Familiarity with lean manufacturing and continuous improvement principles.

• Forklift license and/or confined space entry certification (advantageous).

• Mechanical trade qualification (e.g. fitter, turner, or equivalent) or equivalent hands-on experience.

• Strong mechanical aptitude with excellent fault-finding and problem-solving abilities.
