Your New Role

As our Building Maintenance Officer, you will be the go-to person for the upkeep and presentation of our learning facilities across Sydney’s south and western suburbs. This is a varied, hands-on role where no two days are the same. You'll travel between our centres, taking ownership of all maintenance tasks to ensure our environments remain functional, safe, and welcoming for our children, families, and staff.

What You'll Be Doing

All-Round Maintenance & Repairs: Proactively manage day-to-day repairs, including minor carpentry, plaster patching, painting, and general building upkeep.

Creating Inspiring Environments: Maintain our gardens and outdoor play areas, helping to create beautiful and engaging spaces for children.

Ensuring Safety First: Conduct regular safety checks and ensure all work complies with WHS regulations and childcare standards, keeping our centres hazard-free.

Multi-Site Management: Efficiently plan your schedule to provide timely maintenance support across multiple Bright Beginnings locations.

What You'll Bring

Proven experience in a handyman, property maintenance, or similar role.

A solid skill set covering general repairs, carpentry, plastering, and painting.

A valid Australian Driver’s Licence and your own reliable vehicle suitable for carrying tools.

Your own professional set of tools for a wide range of maintenance tasks.

A current Working With Children Check (or the willingness to obtain one immediately).

Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently.

A positive attitude and a commitment to maintaining high standards.
