Childcare Cook

Play Childcare and Kindergarten is a new, family-owned and operated childcare service that provides high-quality education and care for children aged 0-6 years. We are looking for a friendly and reliable centre chef to join our team and prepare daily nutritious meals in our beautiful, large, custom built commercial kitchen.

About the role

As the centre chef, you will be at the service from 8am - 2pm Monday to Friday. You will be responsible for:

• Planning and preparing balanced and varied menus that cater to the dietary needs and preferences of the children, in consultation with the Centre director and educators,
• Ordering and purchasing food supplies and equipment within the allocated budget,
• Maintaining a clean and hygienic kitchen environment and complying with food safety regulations and policies.

About you

To be successful in this role, you will need:

• A love for cooking and a creative flair for preparing appealing and appetising meals for children,
• A friendly and positive attitude,
• The ability to work individually in the kitchen as well as be part of the team
• Appropriate food handling and safety qualifications,
• A current Working with Children Check
