- Permanent part time opportunity to join our welcoming team at Strathmore Children's Centre
- Working 31 hours per week Monday to Friday, you will plan and prepare a range of nutritionally balanced menus
- Salary in line with Council Band 3, starting at $35.41 per hour plus 12% superannuation (commensurate with experience)
As a Childcare Centre Cook at Moonee Valley City Council's Strathmore Children's Centre, you will be responsible for planning and preparing delicious and nutritious meals for our youngest community members!
Your passion for healthy eating and maintaining the highest standards of food safety will play a key role in building positive relationships with children and families attending our service.

In this role, you will:
- Support the health and wellbeing of children by providing nutritious, culturally sensitive and seasonal menus for children enrolled at Strathmore Children's Centre
- Ensure the safety of children in our care, by planning and preparing meals in line with dietary and allergen requirements
- Maintain the highest standards of food safety by ensuring all storage, handling and preparation of food and drinks is in line with legislation and quality standards
- Use your creativity and organisational skills to plan rotating menus and order supplies in consultation with the Centre Coordinator
- Actively contribute to food-based experiences in collaboration with our dedicated team of educators
You will need:
- Working with Children's Check
- First Aid Level 2
- Anaphylaxis Management
- Emergency Asthma Management
- Certificate 3 (or above) in Commercial Cookery (desirable) and/or experience related to food planning and preparation in an Early Years setting
- Food Safety Supervisor Certificate and/or a Food Handling (Food Safety and Hygiene)
- Hold a current and valid:
- Experience working in children's services will be well regarded.
