About the role
This is an exciting opportunity to join the CHIA NSW Learning and Development team as a Trainer and Assessor (Housing Specialist). In this full-time role, you will be responsible for developing and delivering high-quality training and assessment services to community housing providers across New South Wales. Based in our Redfern office, you will play a key role in upskilling the community housing workforce and supporting the ongoing professional development of our sector.
What you'll be doing
Designing and delivering accredited and non-accredited training programs on a range of topics relevant to the community housing industry
Conducting comprehensive skills assessments and providing detailed, constructive feedback to learners
Developing engaging and interactive training resources, including course materials, presentations, and assessment tools
Providing coaching and mentoring to support the professional development of training participants
Maintaining accurate learner records and ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations and quality standards
Contributing to the continuous improvement of CHIA NSW's training and assessment services
Core requirements include:
Working with children check is required before commencement
Driver's License NSW
Available to travel within metropolitan Sydney
Experience in industry relevant to specialisation of at least five years
Educational Qualifications Required:
TAE40116 currently or willing to completed within 12 months of commencement
Qualification, Degree or Diploma in area of specialisation
Experience as a trainer and assessor, preferably within the community services or housing sectors
Key Responsibilities
Resource development
Together with the Manager, Training consult with the social and affordable housing sector, as well as the homelessness sector, to ensure resources and information are current and relevant.
Prepare resource materials for training delivery e.g., Learner Guides, Facilitator Guides, Assessment Tasks/Booklets in accordance with Standards for RTOs (2015) and amendments and State Government authorities.
Undertake mapping of assessments and learning material against the training package and undertake the process of validation and continuous improvement.
Maintain currency in education delivery in both accredited and professional development through research and professional development.
Research current legislation that applies to the social housing sector to contextualise training materials across jurisdictions.
Member engagement and representation
Participate in member service activities and other networking opportunities.
Build and maintain relationships with members and other key stakeholders.
Other Duties
Participate in the general activities of the organisation.
Work with colleagues to build a positive and collaborative workplace culture.
Work with colleagues to develop effective workplace communication practices.
Carry out other duties as requested by the Manager, Training and/or Head of Learning and Development.
