We are seeking a qualified fire safety practitioner to join our growing team. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of fire safety regulations and standards. You will be responsible for conducting fire safety inspections, performing maintenance on fire safety equipment, and troubleshooting issues as they arise. Key tasks include the inspection, testing and maintenance of a variety of fire safety systems.
The role requires excellent communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a supportive team environment. A valid driver's license and a commitment to continuous learning are essential. Qualifications & Experience
Accreditation in FPAS and experience within the fire protection industry is highly regarded
Strong understanding of fire safety regulations and standards
Expertise in conducting comprehensive fire safety inspections and identifying defects in accordance with AS1851-2012
Proficient in the installation, testing, and maintenance of fire safety equipment
Strong troubleshooting skills for diagnosing and resolving equipment issues
Excellent communication skills for liaising with clients and team members
High attention to detail for accurate documentation of inspections and maintenance activities
Ability to work independently
A positive, kind attitude and the ability to work collaboratively with the field and office team to support a respectful and inclusive work environment
A commitment to continuous learning and keeping up to date with industry changes
A valid driver's license
Tasks & Responsibilities
Conduct thorough fire safety inspections in line with industry regulations and standards.
Perform regular maintenance and repairs on a range of fire safety equipment.
Collaborate with team members to ensure efficient and timely task completion.
Troubleshoot and resolve equipment issues promptly.
Install, test, diagnose, and maintain a wide range of fire safety systems, including but not limited to: fire indicator panels, diesel and sprinkler pump sets, fire alarms, heat detectors, fire extinguishers, fire hydrants, fire hose reels, fire doorsets and emergency/exit lighting.
Report findings and updates to the team for action and awareness.
Travel to and from properties throughout the day.
Attend the office located in the Sutherland Shire when necessary to collect information or parts for task completion.
