About the role
The Eastern Family Violence Program manager will work in close partnership within VACCA’s Leadership group, VACCA Family Violence program team’s, the Hub Managers to lead high quality, culturally safe and effective responses to Aboriginal people seeking support around Family Violence services within both VACCA and the Orange Door, once it is up and running. Additionally, the Eastern Family Violence Program Manager will work to build and maintain effective partnerships with Aboriginal services and communities within the VACCA and Networks to support for Aboriginal people.
About You
- Tertiary qualification in Social Work, Psychology, welfare or a related discipline or willingness to obtain.
- MARAM training or commitment to completing training
- Valid Police Check, a Working with Children’s Check for a paid employee (or willingness to obtain) and a Victorian Driver Licence. Current COVID-19 vaccination (Strongly Recommended)
- Demonstrated commitment and understanding for the values that underpin VACCA’ vision and purpose
- Demonstrated awareness and appreciation of Aboriginal societies and cultures, and commitment to continually build knowledge of such, along with a high level of awareness of the key issues which impact upon Aboriginal communities
- Drives cultural change by promoting culturally safe and responsive practices for Aboriginal people; designs innovative solutions, fosters effective practice cultures, identifies and communicates necessary changes, and engages key stakeholders to implement them.
- Provides expert leadership in Aboriginal services, embedding culturally safe and responsive practices within integrated, multi-agency service models; demonstrates strong leadership, negotiation, and relationship skills; possesses deep knowledge of family violence, legal systems, and working with Aboriginal individuals and families.
- Applies systems thinking to identify diagnosis trends, challenges, and opportunities; understands connections between systems and communities to inform policy and defines how systems operate within the organisation.
- Strong organisational, analytical, interpersonal, and communication skills including the capacity to negotiate and work effectively with a range of individuals and organisations to facilitate the effective delivery of organisational and program objectives.
- Demonstrate experience and an in depth understanding and application of Family Violence and Child Well-being, frameworks, models, approaches, theories and practice when dealing with clients, including an in depth understanding of family violence risk assessment and management in line with the MARAM framework.
- Ability to use initiative, work under pressure, and use sound professional judgement in decision making.
