Due to a healthy pipeline of projects, we are seeking casual Trades Assistants (skilled or unskilled) to join our team. CorrWear is a thriving corrosion and wear solutions specialist company located in Wollongong. We specialise in the provision of industrial tiling and protective coatings for structural steelwork for both the mining and steel sectors, our customers include BlueScope Steel and South 32. With a safety-first mentality this is a diverse role, and you will be an important member of a team that’s been successfully working in the Illawarra for over 20 years.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the surface preparation of steel works including grinding and abrasive blasting, removal of ceramic tiles via jackhammer, cutting of ceramic tiles and operation of brick saws, set up of electrical tools, and blast equipment
• Assist with the mixing and application of epoxy adhesives and coatings
• Assist journeyman tradesmen by performing duties related to industrial tiling
• Assist and perform confined space entry and gas monitoring
• Transport materials, tools, and supplies as required to and from site
• Drive vehicles as required plus loading and unloading etc.
• Safe use of power, hand tools, and equipment
• Manual handling
• Forklift operation

Requirements

• Safety-first mentality, ensuring a safe, enjoyable, and productive workspace
• You have substantiated a minimum 1-3 years’ experience in similar roles
• You are a strong team player
• You are proactive and demonstrate good timekeeping and reliability
• You have a solid demonstrated commitment to safety
• Forklift license
• Australian Driver’s License
