Location: Based in Brisbane and Logan (Ability to travel if required)
Level: Level 7 Social, Community, Home Care and Disability Services Industry Award - $119,089- $124,065 pro-rata (depending on experience). Salary sacrificing available.
Reports to: Senior Leader Youth, Groups and Community Recovery
Contract: Ongoing Part Time role (4 days per week)

Role Purpose
The primary purpose of this role is to lead and manage our Group work team who provide trauma-informed group interventions and culturally responsive healing initiatives with communities from refugee backgrounds. The team leader role is responsible for providing management oversight, team coordination, multidisciplinary and collaborative program development, and ensuring QPASTT group work is responsive to community needs.
The role requires an ability to ensure programs are strategically and therapeutically aligned with QPASTT Recovery goals, while listening to, upholding and centralising community and participant healing goals and transitional needs. The role is responsible for implementing QPASTT group-work strategy and processes across the organisation, upholding QPASTT and FASSTT standards of practice, monitoring and outcome measurement. Positive and productive relationships with a range of internal and external stakeholders will be essential.

• passionate about and experienced in group-based processes and interventions for trauma recovery for people from refugee backgrounds.
• committed to collaboration and supporting of group work practitioners to implement a range of group -based interventions, collective healing and culturally responsive activities
• experienced and committed to community engagement and recovery, consultation, and stakeholder engagement, and incorporating these needs into program design.
• experienced in program management inclusive of meeting contractual requirements, team management and project coordination.
• Creative, adaptable and has the ability to keep up to date with fast changing needs and engagement opportunities in the context of busy team environments.
• committed to supporting team members and other practitioners to achieve their potential. You will contribute to the resolution of work-related matters by having cultural humility, being honest, approachable and responsive, committed to human rights and believe in social justice irrespective of differences related to gender, age, culture, religion, sexual orientation, disability, socio-economic status or political opinion.
Responsibilities
1. Ensure that QPASTT is delivering impactful group work that achieves meaningful outcomes for individuals and communities.
2. Support team members and group work practitioners to deliver strategic and therapeutic appropriate activities which support healing and the opportunity to thrive and belong in the Australian community.
3. Build and foster positive relationships with internal and external stakeholders (including peer team leaders, senior managers, staff, clients, community leaders, faith leaders, youth leaders, parents, carers, government agencies and elected representatives).
4. Lead and influence a positive and healthy team culture that is cohesive and well-functioning and provide line management and technical support to staff in the groupwork team.
5. Ensure quality service delivery including accountability with service delivery targets and organisational requirements. This includes facilitation of team meetings, strong coordination and communication to staff and leadership about group work policies and processes contributing to national and organisational standards and outcomes measurement, reporting writing, recognizing and identifying emerging trends and solutions in group work, overseeing data entry processes and contributing to group work practice development.
6. Contribute to the collaborative management and leadership structure of QPASTT.
Requirements
1. Experience in and ability to apply QPASTT’s healing, belonging, thriving and justice framework to group work interventions, collective healing mechanisms and community-based practice.
2. Leadership qualities including the ability to support the healthy functioning of a team, inclusive of program management, budget management and service delivery.
3. Relationship building qualities including the ability to work effectively with community members, participants, peers, group work practitioners, collaborating services and community organisations.
4. Management skills including the ability to assist team members and group work practitioners across QPASTT with planning, delivery, monitoring and evaluation of activities and the ability to contribute to and write reports (both internal and external). This includes ensuring that data is entered into NERO in a timely and appropriate way.
5. Experience in, and ability to work in partnership with other stakeholders to develop innovative strategies for group-based interventions and community based practice.
Employment Conditions
1. Willingness to adjust work hours to enable regular out of hours work including on weeknights and weekends and to work across both Brisbane and Logan offices.
2. A national police check and current working with vulnerable persons check (Blue Card)
3. A current Queensland driver’s License.
