The Risk and WHS Officer plays a key role in supporting the Principal and Business Manager in ensuring a safe and compliant working and learning environment for all staff, students, contractors and visitors. The role is responsible for implementing and maintaining effective WHS and risk management systems and supporting the school in meeting its legislative and duty of care obligations.

About the role

Dynamic risk and WHS role working across WHS compliance, risk identification and mitigation, incident management and reporting, staff training, emergency management and policy management.

Employment Type: Permanent part-time (approximately 0.7FTE).

Open to negotiation regarding work hours.

Possibility of working school hours (9.00am to 3.30pm) four days per week.

School term only position.

Salary: D5 School Officer: $93,855pa + superannuation, full-time. When reduced for 0.7FTE and 41 working weeks, salary is $58,950pa + superannuation (including 5 weeks paid annual leave).

Our ideal candidate

The successful applicant will be able to demonstrate:

Qualifications in WHS, risk management, business, or a related discipline.

Minimum 2 years’ experience in a comparable role. Experience in a school setting would be highly regarded.

Strong analytical skills, with ability to research, problem solve and develop innovative and effective solutions.

Advanced written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to convert complex information into plain language.

Ability to foster professional relationships with a wide variety of people.

High level of integrity and respect for confidentiality.

Understanding of and commitment to the ethos of Christian school education.
