Your new company

This family owned and operated business is based in the south side of Canberra and operates as a waste management business. Due to a team member relocating interstate, they are now seeking a full-time HR truck driver to join their team.

Your new role

In this role, you will be responsible for driving HR trucks primarily on the company site but may also drive offsite to nearby Canberra locations as required. You will also be required to:

• Work 7am to 4pm with 2x 30-minute breaks.
• Empty skip bins on site using the hooklift truck, you will be taught how to operate the hooklift and safely hook up the skips with the chains.
• Drive the watercart on site to help keep dust air pollution to a minimum.
• Fuel up the vehicles on site as required
• Report any maintenance on the trucks as required

What you'll need to succeed

To be successful in securing this role, you will need:

• The ability to work the hours outlined above.
• A HR truck license, with recent demonstrated truck driving experience.
• Hooklift operation experience is preferred but not essential
• A White Card, Asbestos Awareness and Silica Ticket are essential

What you'll get in return

In return, you will:

• Be paid above award hourly rates of $38 per hour with overtime paid as per the waste management award where applicable.
• Work as a casual with expected full-time hours every week
• This client has taken casual workers across to their books as permanent employees in the past, so there is the potential for this for the right person.
