The Opportunity
Our Marine Services team manages the State's marine assets, operations and programs and is responsible for creating and guiding the development of marine policy, legislation and infrastructure, as well as promoting safe boating behaviours.

The Asset Engineer - Marine reports to the Manager, Marine Assets and is responsible for:

Developing and implementing infrastructure strategies and initiatives for the portfolio.

Developing asset management strategies, including preparing, managing and maintaining asset registers and asset information systems.

Providing a systematic and coordinated approach to optimally sustain portfolio infrastructure.

Maximising the value and delivery of infrastructure and assets over their whole of life.

Providing governance review mechanisms including performance monitoring.

Delivering the maintenance of assets to increase asset performance and return on investment, including building facilities, rail infrastructure and rolling stock, road network, marine facilities & fleet, plant and equipment.

Qualifications/Licenses
A Degree in Engineering providing eligibility for graduate membership as a Professional Engineer of the Institution of Engineers, Australia.

A current Drivers Licence is essential.

Special Conditions
Prior to employment with the Department the successful candidate will be required to provide:

A National Police Check (NPC) which must be renewed every three years.

A Department for Human Services (DHS) Working with Children Check (WWCC) which is required to be renewed every five years before expiry.

Some out of hours and weekend work, along with some intra/interstate travel requiring overnight stays, may be required.
