The Role & The Team

The Payroll Services team delivers end-to-end payroll processing, reporting, compliance, and system support across Airservices Australia. As a Transactional Payroll Officer within the Payroll Operations team, you’ll support Tier 1 payroll processing tasks as outlined in the Payroll Service Catalogue.

Reporting to the Payroll Services Lead and working within a collaborative team environment, you’ll be responsible for a mix of routine transactional work and moderately complex payroll activities, all contributing to the accurate and timely delivery of payroll services.

  • Process Tier 1 payroll transactions, provide advice, and resolve related queries, while building knowledge of Tier 2 activities.
  • Execute payroll tasks efficiently, ensuring full compliance with legislation, policies, and procedures.
  • Prioritise and manage workloads to meet deadlines while actively contributing to continuous improvement initiatives across Payroll, Corporate, and Shared Services.

The Person

  • Ability to work effectively both as a collaborative team member and independently with limited supervision.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to meet deadlines accurately and with great attention to detail.
  • Ability in managing competing priorities while maintaining a strong customer service focus and building effective working relationships.
  • Demonstrated ability to acquire an understanding of, and the capacity to use HRIS systems.
