Position Overview
Cash in Transit (CIT) Security Officers are responsible for ensuring the safe and secure transportation of cash and valuables between various locations. Your primary duty will be to protect the assets and personnel during cash handling and transportation operations.
You will be required to adhere to strict security protocols and always maintain a high level of professionalism. Work may include shift work covering 24/7 rosters.
On the Job
As a CIT Security Officer the day-to-day job responsibilities include:
Safeguarding cash, valuables, and assets while in transit from one location to another.
Providing secure transportation of cash deposits, ATM replenishments, and other valuable items for banks, businesses, and financial institutions.
Conducting thorough security checks and inspections of vehicles and equipment before and after each trip.
Maintaining a high level of vigilance and alertness to identify potential security threats or suspicious activities during transit.
Adhering to strict security protocols and procedures to ensure the safety and integrity of the transported items.
Patrolling, securing
Effectively communicating and coordinating with team members, supervisors, and clients to ensure smooth operations and timely delivery.
Handling emergency situations calmly and efficiently, following established protocols to minimize risks and protect personnel, assets, and the public.
Maintaining accurate records of transactions, incidents, and other relevant information.
Staying updated with the latest security trends, regulations, and industry best practices to enhance professional knowledge and skills.
Upholding professionalism, integrity, and confidentiality while representing the company and interacting with clients and the public
Qualifications & Training
Being part of the security industry requires an individual to undertake his/her responsibility with a high degree of professionalism. The requirements for a CIT Security Officer include:
Must be 18+ years old
Meet probity requirements and criminal record checks
Hold a valid Security Licence including Cash in Transit Subclass for ACT & NSW.
Experience & Skills Required
Must be confident and capable of working under supervision
Accurate and methodical
Analytical
Honesty and integrity
Must have reasonable fitness
Must have a clean criminal record
Preferable to hold an Australian Drivers Licence
Must have good written and spoken English
Able to work well under pressure
