About the role:
The Workforce, Population and Migration Group helps to build South Australia’s labour force through population and migration strategy and initiatives, and support industry to attract and retain the workforce it requires, including through workforce planning and development.
As the Principal Policy Officer you will develop and deliver industry-specific, regional and state-wide workforce plans and strategies, including a State Workforce Strategy, to achieve workforce objectives and State government priorities. You will also contribute to the formulation of workforce interventions, initiatives and projects to address workforce challenges in critical sectors and regions and improving labour market outcomes for target groups.
Key Competencies:
To apply and succeed in the role, you will have:
Understanding of industry workforce challenges and opportunities in South Australia’s critical industries, regions, and the broader economy.
High level research, analytical and problem-solving skills
Experience in planning and delivering activities to support policy development and implementation, particularly in relation to workforce and skills development.
Experience in government policy development, decision making, management and accountability systems and processes.
Ability to use initiative to work successfully under broad directions, manage changing and competing priorities, critical deadlines.
Remuneration:
Competitive salary $108,109 to $116,864 p.a. plus superannuation

Qualifications:
Essential: Nil
Desirable: Experience and/or qualifications in a relevant field.
Special Conditions:
The role will be offered full-time (1.0 FTE), initial 24-month term contract.
Satisfactory Department of Human Services Criminal History Check or National Police Check (NPC) required prior to employment.
